Our offices are taking the precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control to provide a safe environment, including strict sterilizing procedures, limiting visitors during appointments, requiring a face covering or mask while in the office and screening everyone prior to being admitted to our office. In addition to seeing patients in person at our offices, Hampton Roads ENT~ Allergy is now offering virtual visits to address many of your concerns from the comfort and safety of your home. OFFICE APPOINTMENT POLICY
Patients with scheduled appointments
We ask that you reschedule your appointment if have symptoms including a fever, cough, shortness of breath and/or have family members who have a fever or cough. Please read below for details on how our COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines may affect your visit:
Safety Precautions
Anyone coming into the building is screened by having their temperature taken and being asked questions. In accordance with the state of Virginia executive order, all patients and accompanying parent/guardian are required to wear a mask or face covering when coming into the office. If you arrive without a mask, you may be asked to reschedule or shift to a telemed visit, if available.
Limiting visitors to our offices
In an attempt to protect our patients, their families, providers and staff from the spread of COVID-19, we are working to minimize the number of people coming into our offices. We ask that adult patients do not bring anyone, including children, with them to their appointments. If you arrives with extra people, you may be asked to reschedule or shift to a telemed visit, if available.
For adult patients:
Adult patients cannot have anyone accompany them to their appointment. Exceptions are made for patients that are disabled, have dementia or if the patient is coming in for a hearing aid evaluation or fitting appointment. Please contact us prior to the appointment with questions or concerns.
For pediatric patients:
Pediatric patients are allowed one parent or guardian to accompany them to their appointment. Children other than the patient cannot attend.

Hampton:
Scheduled Appointments
Walk to the main entrance of our office to be screened. If our staff member is with a patient, please wait at one of the markers placed on the floor outside. After you have been screened, the staff will direct you where to go next to check-in for your appointment.
Allergy Shots
After you have been screened, the staff will confirm your cell phone number. Then you will be asked to wait in your car until you receive a phone call notifying you that we are ready for you to come in.
When you are called into the office, please wait to be waived in by one of our staff members once the entry way is clear.
Newport News:
Scheduled Appointments
Enter through the main entrance of Port Warwick Sentara Building #1 and head up to our office. Sentara requires you wear your mask upon entering the office building. You will be met by one of our staff members at our office door to be screened. The staff member will direct you on where to go next to be checked in.
Williamsburg:
Allergy Shots & Scheduled Appointments
You will be met in the lobby by one of our staff members at the elevator entrance to have your temperature taken. After you have been screened you will be able to go directly up to the patient lobby area to be checked in.
Gloucester:
Allergy Shots & Scheduled Appointments
Enter through the main entrance of Sentara Hospital Medicine Physicians. Sentara requires that you wear your mask upon entering the office building. You will be met by one of our staff members at our office door to be screened and have your temperature taken. The staff member will then direct you where to go next to be checked in.

SURGERY
Patients who are having surgery:
We are following all COVID-19 hospital guidelines determined by the hospital where the surgery will be performed.
Please read the below details on some COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines that mayaffect your visit:
- Surgeries may require one negative COVID test with a seven-day quarantine after the test and negative screening (temperature and symptom check) the morning of. If the patient can not commit to self-quarantine, they will need to be rescheduled.
- If the patient or accompanying guest has a temp of 100 degrees or more, or confirmed symptoms upon arrival for surgery, the case will be rescheduled.
- A limited number of individuals will be able to accompany the patient into the center and into the pre-op area.
Your providers dedicated surgery scheduler will assist you with obtaining current guidelines.
